When it comes to car lease transfers, there’s a very high chance you will need to involve a car shipper. For those of you that have never done this, getting a car shipped might feel intimidating. After doing it several times, it is not intimidating at all. If anything, the process is quite smooth. The most important component is finding a good car shipper. Here are some things to look for when getting your car shipped.
- Getting a quote – First part is getting a quote from a car shipper. Besides the distance, you’ll need to determine if you want the vehicle covered (inside a truck) or not. It will always be cheaper to not have it covered. The negative of it not being covered is being exposed to road elements while being transported.
- Communication – After you get your online quote, you want a car shipper that can get back to you quickly. Not only during the sales process, but once you become a customer. The good vendors truly know the importance of this. They will give you the contact information of your driver so you can communicate directly with the driver. Also, you always have the shipper as the backup to the driver if you need to speak to someone
- Insurance Coverage – Make sure you ask your car shipper about their company’s liability insurance coverage. This is just in case something happens to your vehicle during transport. Most reputable providers will have 50k-100k in coverage for your vehicle during transport.
- Take Pictures – The car shipper will walk your vehicle to looks for scratches, dents, & marks. He will document this information for when it comes to pick up time. It’s in your best interest to take close up photos & close up video of the vehicle prior to the car being shipped.
